Born in 1956, Alexis Govciyan is currently the Director of Institut Supérieur des Métiers (ISM), national center to foster the economic development of craft and trade SMEs, by providing them resources from studies, research universities, and putting in place mechanisms for strategy, know-how, innovation and territorial development.
ISM is also in charge of the french government label « Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant- EPV », awarding the excellence of french rare know-how. This EPV label was set up in 2006 to distinguish French SMEs with excellent artisanal and industrial expertise.
Mr. Govciyan studied Business Administration at the Paris-Dauphine University, and had different positions during his career for the management of organizations in charge of the development and the innovation.
Awarded the « Légion d’Honneur », the « Ordre national du Mérite » and the « Palmes Académiques » medals, Councillor of Ile-de-France (2010 – 2015), he is currently Deputy-Mayor of Paris- 9th District.
